ProductGenMB Pro vs Free: What You Actually Get for $25
An honest side-by-side. What the free plan is genuinely good for, the six specific moments you hit its ceiling, and what 200 monthly credits buy at real per-action costs.

The free plan is not a trial. It has no expiry and no card requirement, and people ship real apps on it. It also has a ceiling, and the ceiling is in specific places rather than spread evenly.
This is the side by side, with the numbers the product actually enforces.
What free is good for
Free gives you 8 credits per day, up to 40 a month, and:
- Unlimited apps
- Four frameworks: Vanilla JS, React, React + TypeScript, React Native
- Live preview while you create
- Version history
- Publish to a free
*.genmb.comsubdomain - Works as a mobile app (PWA)
- Up to 3 visual workflows you can build and test-run
- Up to 2 chat agents you can create and configure (testing them needs a paid plan)
- 1 agent team
- Top-up credit packs, if you want more credits without a subscription
You get 8 a day, capped at 40 a month.
That is enough to build a portfolio site, a landing page, a small internal tool, a PWA, and to learn what the product does before paying for it.
What 8 credits a day actually buys
Costs are per action and fixed:
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Code generation, single file | 2 |
| Code generation, multi-file | 4 |
| Code generation, full-stack (backend and database) | 6 |
| Chat refinement, simple edit | 1 |
| Chat refinement, complex or plan mode | 3 |
| Deployment | 1 |
| Agent Mode, per run | 8 |
| Workflow execution | 1 |
| Scheduled agent execution | 1 |
| Chat agent, per message | 1 |
| AI image generation (proxy) | 1 |
Credits are only deducted after an action succeeds. A failed generation costs nothing.
Read that table against 8 a day and the shape is clear. One multi-file generation plus three refinements and a deploy is a full free day. One Agent Mode run is the entire day in a single action. That is deliberate: Agent Mode is priced at exactly one free day's allowance so the flagship build path is reachable on free, once.
The six moments you hit the ceiling
Not "when you get serious." These are the specific walls.
1. The daily reset becomes the bottleneck. The first time you are mid-flow at credit 8 and the out-of-credits modal appears, you are choosing between a top-up pack and waiting until tomorrow. Pro has no daily limit, just a monthly pool.
2. Your app needs a real database. Relational databases are a paid capability. The per-owner cap is 0 apps on free, 10 on Pro, 50 on Team and no cap on Business. Free apps get key-value storage instead, and the prompt path demotes a relational request to key-value so the generated app still works rather than silently failing. If your app has related tables, this is where free stops.
3. You want a workflow or agent running on autopilot. You can build up to 3 workflows on free and run one of them live. The second live workflow is Pro. Scheduled agents on free are capped at 2 and at a daily cadence; hourly or every-few-minutes needs Pro.
4. You want a chat agent answering real people. Creating and configuring chat agents is free, up to 2. Running the in-browser test chat and putting one live on Telegram, Slack or Email both require a paid plan. That is the gap most people hit second: the agent is set up and cannot be tried without upgrading.
5. You want your own domain, or your app private, or the badge gone. Custom domains, private apps and removing the "Built with GenMB" badge are all Pro. So is the plugin library: all 80 integrations are behind a paid-plan check on the backend, not just hidden in the UI.
6. You want the app to charge money. App Billing is Pro and above. A free owner opening the Billing tab sees an upgrade card instead of the Connect Stripe button.
What Pro is, concretely
Pro is $25 a month, or $20 a month billed yearly, with a 7-day free trial.
- 200 monthly credits, rolling over up to 400
- No daily limit
- A real database for your app, up to 10 database-backed apps
- Agent Mode and GenMB Code
- Export as ZIP (you own your code), and Code view and editor
- Up to 10 workflows and up to 3 scheduled agents on autopilot
- Chat agents live on Telegram, Slack and Email, up to 3
- 3 agent teams
- All 80 integrations and plugins
- Custom domains, private apps, no GenMB badge
- App-level billing through Stripe
- Premium add-ons: voice, maps, AI search
- 250GB file storage per app, up from 1GB
- Priority generation and support
What 200 credits buy. At the per-action costs above: roughly 50 multi-file generations, or 33 full-stack ones, or 200 simple refinements, or 25 Agent Mode runs, or some mix. A realistic month of building one app, refining it daily and deploying often lands under 200, which is why the rollover matters more than the headline number for most people.
Rollover to 400. Unused plan credits roll over for one billing cycle, capped at twice your allocation. A quiet month banks up to 200, so the month you actually build hard has 400 available. Free credits do not roll over at all, they reset daily and vanish.
Top-ups are separate. Purchased credit packs never expire and are only spent after your plan allowance runs out. They are available on every plan including free, but a top-up does not turn on plan-gated features. Buying 500 credits on the free plan gets you more generations, not a custom domain.
Team, briefly
Team is $59 a month ($49 billed yearly, with a 7-day free trial) and it is a different shape, not just more of Pro. It gives you 500 monthly credits as a single shared pool, with optional per-person limits, rolling over up to 1,000. On top of Pro's features it adds company-only apps, a brand kit, team templates, one-click join by work email, and an activity log. Every plan allows unlimited members, so the question is whether more than one person is spending credits. Two Pro subscriptions cost $50 and give you two separate 200-credit pools that cannot help each other; Team costs $59 and gives you 500 credits everyone draws from. For a small team where one person builds heavily some weeks and another does the next month, the shared pool is the reason to pick it.
The honest recommendation
Stay on free while you are still finding out whether the app is worth building. The free plan is designed to let you get a real app published on a real URL, and it does that.
Upgrade the day you hit one of the six walls, and upgrade for the wall you hit rather than for the credits. The credits are the enabler. The database, the live agent, the domain and the ability to charge are the things you are actually buying.
